Welcome to our kitchen with Chef Risi on the island of Sardinia for cooking classes and a local food experience. Here, you will discover the secrets of local Sardinian cuisine while making antipasti, homemade pasta, sauces – vegetarian too, local fish, meats and dessert. Excellent hands-on cooking classes, fine Sardinian wines and local liqueurs are included.
Our authentic cooking tour is hosted at Chef Risi’s kitchen in Oristano. His knowledge and enthusiastic attitude will soon get you excited about local cooking. He grew up in the center of Sardinia where his family reared their own chickens, rabbits, and pigs, so he is very particular about the sourcing of quality organic ingredients. Therefore, menus vary according to the seasons and use only local organic ingredients. Your cooking experience on this beautiful island will provide you with all the knowledge you need to recreate healthy Mediterranean recipes in your kitchen at home. Don’t forget that this area is home to Europe’s highest number of centenarians!
Learn to prepare fresh pasta, such as ravioli, tortellini or tagliatelle as well as local specialties like malloreddus and culurgiones. Fresh fish is a key ingredient on Sardinia making zuppa di pesce, the local fish soup, a specialty. Additional fish and seafood are included and you will learn how to clean, cook and judge correct cooking times. Your chef will also teach you how to fillet, salt and grill both fish and meat. He will also give tips on elegant plating and presentation, ensuring that each dish is a pleasure to the eye as well as the palate. Lunch or dinner follows and includes the foods that were prepared in your cooking class with fine Sardinian wines and local liqueurs.

*Please note: One-day cooking classes do not include transportation, accommodations, or any other excursions. If you would like to add on transfers to and from your hotel or cruise ship port ~ please let us know your group size and we will be happy to reserve transfers for you. Transfers are an extra cost.
