The Iaccarino family welcomes you to Don Alfonso 1890, the award-winning Michelin Star Restaurant for an opulent wine tasting experience. The property is located in the quaint town of Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi nestled between the Bays of Naples and Salerno. Join the Don Alfonso Sommelier for a tour in the award-winning wine cellar followed by a Wine Tasting & Chef’s Appetizers accompanied with or a Chef’s Tasting Lunch. Sip & swirl the greats- Aglianico, Falanghina, Fiano d’Avellino, Greco di Tufo and Taurasi. The wines of Campania are Italy’s finest. The fertile volcanic soil of southern Italy, coupled with the year round warm climate, & strong summer sun, provide perfect conditions for excellent grape harvests and wine making.
The Wine Cellar
Step into Don Alfonso 1890’s Cellar and go back in time. The cellar, originally an ancient Roman tunnel stocks over 25,000 bottles of wines from all over the world, ranging from the Italian Greats, to prized French to exotic world makers. The cellar also has a cheese aging room that is 25 meters underground; keeping their prized artisan cheeses just at the right temperature.
Wine Tasting & Chef’s Appetizers
Your morning begins with a visit to the cellar. Our award-winning sommelier will lead you through an in-depth discussion on the grape varieties, methods and production of the great Whites & Reds of Campania. Don Alfonso offers one of southern Italy’s largest reserves of fine wine in its cellar. After the tour & discussion move to the terrace (weather permitting) for a tasting of the property’s wines. A selection of seasonal Chef’s Appetizers will accompany each glass served.

Your morning begins with a visit to the wine cellar. Our award-winning sommelier will lead you through an in-depth discussion on the grape varieties, methods and production. Don Alfonso offers one of southern Italy’s largest reserves of fine wines. Following, the wine tasting tour your experience continues in the dining room where you will be served a Chef’s Tasting Lunch paired with select wines from the cellar. Discussion continues with information on grape variety, method and production.
