Kosher Cooking Classes Bologna – Bologna, often called La città grassa, the fat city, is Italy’s center of gastronomy and has been since medieval times. The region continues to flourish with a prized truffles, grass fed beef and veal, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, and of course ~ tortellini and ragù alla Bolognese. In our Kosher style cooking, you will learn how to a complete Kosher lunch or dinner in the heart of the city center. Join us, with Chef Chrissa, in hands-on Kosher-style cooking class, and discover all that Kosher Bologna has to offer!
1-Day Cooking Class:
Chef Chrissy welcomes guests into her home in the center of Bologna for hands-on Kosher-style cooking. Each recipe features Italian favorites—antipasto, handmade pasta, and secondo, a main course and dessert. Cooking classes follow the Kashrut laws of Northern Italy. During your cooking class, Chef Chrissy guides each guest, while sharing technique and food notes on Kosher cooking. Soak up Bologna’s Kosher cuisine while taking a peek into the century-old gastronomic exchange that shaped both the Jewish and Gentile cuisine as it is known today.
You may choose three recipes from a selection of menus including: fresh tuna loaf garnished with grated Parmesan: baccalà, local cod: maltagliati, a Bolognese pasta served in a savory onion sauce; green beans and fennel flan; burriche, a puff pastry triangle stuffed with egg and almond filling; or challah, the Sabbath bread. Following the cooking lesson, guests dine on the foods that were prepared in the cooking class. Local wine is included. Cooking Classes are 2.5 to 3 hours (and may run more as we are in Italy) with lunch or dinner following. Groups are a minimum of 2 and maximum 8. Chef’s aprons and recipe books included.

If you would like to add on transfers to and from your hotel or cruise ship port ~ please let us know your group size and we will be happy to provide a price and reserve the transfer(s) for you.
