Join us for an exclusive food & wine tour from October 27 to November 3, where Rino and Lauren will lead a small group through the precious vineyards of Tuscany; the ancient cities of Siena and San Gimignano; the food halls of Bologna and truffle fields of Emilia Romagna. Included are cooking classes, wine visits and tastings and a very special cooking demonstration at Chef Dario Cecchini’s butcher shop and restaurant along with a truffle hunt and cooking class at our favorite Michelin-starred trattoria. This is a one-of-a-kind food lover’s tour is set for special dates when the Tuscan harvest is at its best and the land of truffles is ripe for adventure.

We invite you to pack your bags, and don’t forget your aprons for an incredible experience of Tuscany and Emilia Romagna with lots of cooking, cuisine, culture and wine. 


Itinerary ~ 8 Days, 7 Nights

Day 1 – Arrival in Tuscany, Prosecco Aperitivo & Welcome Dinner

  • Group arrival transfer from Florence Airport then Train Station to Tuscan accommodations in Chianti.
  • Check in and relax. Welcome get-to-getter to meet everyone and go over the cooking tour.
  • Everyone enjoys a Prosecco Aperitivo.
  • Evening – Chef ’s Welcome Dinner – A full course dinner, with homemade antipasto, fresh hand-made pasta and seasonal sauce, main course and dessert served. Wine is included.

Day 2 – Siena with Food Lover’s Landmark Tour & San Gimignano

  • Breakfast is served.
  • Morning – Half-day Food Lover’s Tour of Siena touring landmarks with tastings along the way. English-speaking guide leads the tour.
  • Following a morning in Siena; the group departs from Siena and heads to the ancient town of San Gimignano. Meander through the small artisan shops, stop off for a wine tasting or pause in the piazza for the local harpist who plays Italian songs.
  • Everyone boards the luxury van and the group returns to the property.
  • Dinner at our favorite restaurant in Greve in Chianti, toast of local wine included.

Day 3 – Dario Cecchini Cooking Class & Light Dinner with Wine Tasting

  • Breakfast is served.
  • Morning excursion to Dario Cecchini’s butcher
shop & restaurant in Panzano in Chianti with a cooking class & demonstration on the preparation of porchetta. Lunch follows on the foods prepared in class.
  • After lunch, visit the beautiful small town of Greve in Chianti.
  • Return to the property and relax.
  • In the evening enjoy a wine tasting at the property with traditional salami and cheese; finger foods such as frittata, quiches, rustica, salumi and lardo.

Day 4 – Visit to Antinori Winery with lunch

  • Breakfast is served.
  • Visit to the award-winning Antinori Vineyard including visit, tour, wine tasting and light lunch.
  • Following visit, set out for the famous olive oil experience.
  • Late afternoon, visit to local Oil Mill to watch the precious olive harvest being transformed into golden-green olive oil.  Here you will soak up the scents and tastes of this unique experience, with tour, olive experience, dinner and local wine included.

Day 5 – Bologna Food Lovers Tour & Cooking Class Bologna

  • Breakfast is served.
  • After breakfast, meet your driver for our transfer to Bologna.
  • Arrive in Bologna & check into the hotel.
  • Later that morning, we set off for our Bologna Food Lover’s Tour with English speaking guide and food tastings. We will taste artisan products such as Parmesan cheese, salumi, lard, breads, chocolate and wine. Learn about the historical food and wine of Emilia Romagna and the families who continue to produce these artisan goods the old world way.
  • Afternoon – cooking class with dinner following, everyone dines together on the foods that were prepared in the cooking class and with a toast of wine included.
  • After the cooking class, we stroll through Piazza Maggiore for a walk by night.

Day 6 – Parmesan & Balsamic Tour Bologna

  • Breakfast is served.
  • Morning: your driver will pick you at your hotel for a full-day tour to our coveted Parmesan cheese & balsamic producer accompanied by our English-speaking guide.
  • Lunch with wine is included.
  • Following the excursion, we return to the property.
  • Relax and later in the evening we will visit the most famous caffè bar for an aperitivo with Prosecco, or a soft drink with gourmet finger foods included.
  • Dinner is free and on your own. Cooking Vacations provides a list of their favorite restaurants.

Day 7 – Bologna Countryside Truffle Hunt & Lunch

  • Breakfast is served.
  • Early morning departure with our driver to the hills of Bologna.
  • Truffle hunt followed by traditional full course truffle lunch, *seasonal.
  • Time to explore the small village in the hills with local food products and cooking utensils.
  • Later in the afternoon, return to Bologna Accommodations.
  • Dinner is free and on your own. We have suggestions or you can join us at our favorite restaurant.

Day 8- Ciao & Arrivederci!

  • Breakfast is served.
  • Group departure transfer to Bologna Airport then Train Station.

  • 4 nights in Chianti Accommodations, with private bathroom, based on double occupancy.
  • 3 nights at 3-Star Deluxe Accommodations the center of Bologna, with private bathroom, based on double occupancy.
  • Daily Breakfast.

  • Pre-dinner aperitivo in Bologna.
