Imagine learning how to make organic sweet strawberry, lemon, fig, orange or peach marmalade; or see, taste and cook during the olive harvest – seeing the First Cold Virgin pressed olives being picked from the trees to the pressing. Walk through vineyards learning the art of wine making, cooking with wine and tastings to follow; or immerse yourself into the tomato harvest, learning how to preserve them in jars (interi, pelati, passata ~ whole, peeled, pureed) and cooking them for pasta. From the lemon harvest in Positano, to the Couscous fest in Sicily, to the red hot Chili pepper fest in Calabria, to precious truffle hunting in Bologna, experience Cooking Vacations’ special Seasonal Cooking classes designed to bring you into the harvest of each season.
Learn about the local fruits, vegetables, fish & meat of the seasons and prepare the foods hands-on in our kitchens for cooking classes designed around the seasons. Each program is original, authentic and will have you experiencing the fruits of each season’s harvest, while learning about the folk festivals that often accompany them.
Cooking Class participants learn authentic Italian recipes of the season, followed by lunch or dinner with the foods prepared in class. Toast with great local wines and always end with a sweet dessert!
