These shorter programs are ideal as a part of a multi-city Italy itinerary, as a pre- or post- cruise activity, or even just a quick weekend getaway with the nearby Venice and Verona Airports well connected to all international cities.

Discover the medieval town of Bassano del Grappa and its wines in this beautiful part of the world with Marcello and his family who have passionately restored their farmhouse and vineyard, planting over 50,000 vines and 1,000 olive trees, and transforming it into a gem of a winery in the hills of Bassano del Grappa.

Our Veneto Wine & Cooking programs are designed to satisfy the food & wine lover who wants to learn to cook delicious regional foods and to pair them with the wonderful wines of Veneto.

Taste the traditional cuisine of the Bassano del Grappa region, visit local food artisans and sample regional specialties such as Asiago & Morlacco cheeses, local Torello salami, distilled grappa and Veneto’s favorite Prosecco, sparkling white wine from the hills of Conegliano. Visit landmarks such the sixteenth century Palladian villas that line the Riviera Del Brenta. This self-drive cooking program offers you a great balance of activities and free time to visit areas of Veneto such as Vicenza, Verona, Padua & Venice with local insight while staying at the farmhouse property.

Cooking Classes

Classes take place in the winery’s restaurant with Chef Erica. Your hands on cooking lessons and wine tastings feature authentic regional specialties such as sformatino di carciofi e patate su fonduta di Morlacco, baked artichoke & potato appetizer with Morlacco cheese fondue, fresh home-made pasta, polenta con sugo di Salamella speziata, polenta with slow-cooked spiced sausage, gnocchi, risotto con asparagi, risotto with asparagus or seasonal vegetables, slow cooked soups and stews, stuffed vegetables, main courses such as bocconcini di torello Rendeno al Vespaiolo, Rendeno beef medallions with Vespaiolo wine sauce, agnello al cartoccio con cus-cusù, lamb baked wrapped in foil with couscous, and Venetian desserts such as panna cotta, frollini, butter cookies, and homemade gelato, Italian ice cream. Each course is paired with the family’s wines. Lunch follows and everyone enjoys the food that was prepared in the cooking class.

Veneto

Veneto, home to Bardolino, Valpolicella and Amarone wines, is one of Italy’s foremost wine producing regions, both in terms of quantity and quality. Discover the medieval town of Bassano del Grappa and its quality winery, whose wines and philosophy will have you tasting and learning. In this beautiful part of the world, Marcello and his family have passionately restored their farmhouse and vineyard, planting over 50,000 vines and 1,000 olive trees, and transforming it into a gem of a winery in the hills of Bassano del Grappa. His superb wines benefit from the territory’s volcanic soil, with hot days and cool night breezes producing particularly aromatic wines with a nice mineral quality.

Bassano del Grappa

Situated north of Vicenza and just over an hour from Venice, Bassano del Grappa dates back to the 2nd century B.C. but is better known as a medieval town. Famous for its wooden bridge, the Ponte Vecchio, designed by architect Andrea Palladio, and for being the town to invent the distilled drink grappa, Bassano also attracted gentlemen like Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald during the Second World War. Stop and shop at the well-known Nardini shop set on the bridge where you’ll be able to choose between a variety of grappa including almond, juniper and citron.
