Venice Cooking Class

Tie on your apron in the heart of Venice for a hands-on cooking class making a traditional full course menu.  Start out with antipasto, fresh pasta and sauce, or risotto, a main course and dessert.  You will learn cooking techniques using beautiful fresh fruit, vegetables, produce and fish from the Rialto Market. You will be cooking like a true Venetian creating delicate pasta or risotto, Venetian cakes along with polenta biscotti and delicious fruit tarts.  This splendid experience will have you preparing a delicious lunch or dinner, while learning cooking techniques, followed by dining on the foods that were prepared in the cooking class!  A toast of wine included.

Menus vary to use the best seasonal ingredients available at the market, and can be tailored to accommodate special requests and/or diet needs.

Cooking classes begin 10:30am and end at 2:30pm.

Program Includes

Hands-On Cooking Class preparing a full course Venetian menu with local seasonal ingredients.

Rialto Market Tour and Venice Cooking Class

Meet us at the Rialto Market and discover one of the oldest markets in Europe. This famous outdoor market is a busy scene starting at the crack of dawn as suppliers sail up from their barges, unload and set up their stands for what becomes a boisterous scene of buyers, sellers and spectators passing by, examining, negotiating between crates and stands piled sky high with goods. Fish is famous here, along with vegetables, herbs, spices, fruits and more. And this landmark marketplace has been setting up and doing this daily since 1097. They shop at their well-known merchants for the highest quality products, and conversation of the day.

Following the market, it is off to the kitchen for your hands-on cooking class. Choose from seafood, fresh pasta, meat or vegetarian on the seasonal menus. Special diet menus are available upon request. Lunch follows on the foods prepared in class. Local wine, water & dessert included. (Transportation not included)
