Pepper Sticks
Hand-made pepper sticks, once a Renaissance favorite, are now served from Milan to Naples and everywhere in between. This recipe, from Lauren's Mamma Marie Lucia, are spiced with pepper and anise seeds, and rustic charm. These crisp, golden breadsticks deliver a satisfying snap and a warm, peppery finish. Often served as a pre-dinner nibble or alongside a glass of red or white wine, they embody the philosophy of simple Italian ingredients expertly crafted by hand.
